Who we are
EasiFox (easifox.com) is run by Rabii KAHLAOUI, an individual based in Tunisia, who is responsible for the personal data described here (the “controller”, in the words of European data protection law). This policy explains what data the site collects, why, how long it is kept and what choices you have. For any question about it, write to hello@easifox.com.
In short
The tools run on your own device: what you type, paste or pick in them is never sent to us or anyone else, and only a tool that says so, like the online notepad, keeps it, in your own browser. You don't need an account to use any of them. The site itself uses Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads, which can set cookies: where the law requires your consent, only once you agree.
What you put into the tools
Text, numbers, names, links, passwords and anything else you enter in a tool is worked on by your browser, on your phone or computer. It isn't sent over the internet, and it isn't seen by us, by Google or by our host. Most tools don't store it at all: it's gone when you close or reload the page. A tool that keeps your work between visits, like the online notepad, says so on its page, and keeps it only in your browser's storage on your device, never on our servers. It stays there until you clear it in the tool or delete this site's data in your browser, and anyone who uses the same browser can see it.
What our host receives
easifox.com's pages are delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any website's host, Cloudflare receives what your browser sends when it asks for a page: your IP address, your browser and system, the page asked for and the time. It uses this to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks and abuse, and keeps it for a limited time, as Cloudflare's privacy policy explains. We don't use it to identify or follow visitors.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a service of Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages and tools are visited, how long people stay, the kind of device and browser, the country or city (worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics then discards), and the website or search that brought you here. We see this only as totals and trends: it doesn't tell us who you are, and we don't combine it with anything else.
Where your consent is needed, Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an id, which last up to 2 years) only once you agree. Until then, or if you say no, it receives only signals without cookies or identifiers, which let us count visits anonymously. It keeps the data for at most 14 months, then deletes it. You can read more in Google's privacy policy, and stop Google Analytics on every website with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
EasiFox shows ads from Google AdSense, which pay for the site and keep its tools free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to EasiFox and other sites on the internet. These cookies (such as __gads and __gpi) also limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads and help fight fraud. Some ads may come from other ad networks that Google works with: where your consent is needed, Google's consent message lists them.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google's Ads Settings, and out of other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (or www.youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). If you opt out, or don't agree to personalised ads, you still see ads, but they aren't based on your browsing: they depend on things like the page you're reading and your general location.
To learn how Google uses data from the sites that show its ads, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your cookie choices
Where the law requires your consent, as in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a message asks for it on your first visit, before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. You can accept or refuse, and change your mind at any time from the privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept in your browser, so the site doesn't ask again on every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser's settings: the tools keep working without them.
If you pick light or dark with the switch at the top of the page, your choice is kept in your browser's storage, on your device, so every page opens in it. It's never sent to us, and it's removed when you switch back to the look your device uses.
Why we may use your data
Under European data protection law, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies (you can withdraw it at any time, which doesn't affect what happened before), and on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site, for our host's records, and in answering you when you write to us.
Data sent outside your country
Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and use the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which protect your data when it leaves Europe. We run the site from Tunisia, so emails you send us are read there.
If you write to us
If you email hello@easifox.com, we receive your address, your name if you give it, and your message, which our mail provider stores for us. We use them only to answer you and follow up, keep them for as long as that takes, and never add you to a mailing list or pass them on.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@easifox.com. We answer within 30 days. Since we don't know who our visitors are, we usually hold nothing about you beyond an email you sent us. The data in Google Analytics and Google's ads is kept by Google, and you can manage it from your Google account.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to how your data is used, to restrict it, to receive a copy to take elsewhere and to withdraw your consent at any time. If you think we haven't respected your rights, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what personal data is collected, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising, which those laws may consider personalised ads to be. To opt out, use Google's Ads Settings above or write to us. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Children
EasiFox is made for a general audience. It isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top of this page.
